The use of face masks in any public place is now compulsory as President Muhammadu Buhari has signed the Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) Health Protection Regulations into law.

With the signing of this regulation, it is now an offense for anyone who fails to wear a face mask that covers the mouth and nose. The move is to mitigate the spread of coronavirus in the country as the rate of infection is now ok high side.

Boss Mustapha the Chairman of the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 told journalists in Abuja on Wednesday that President Buhari signed the document on Tuesday. This order also gives enforcement power to all the Nigeria security operatives as anyone caught in public places without a nose mask may be arrested and prosecuted.

A copy of the regulations as sighted by Arise News indicated that nobody shall be seen within the premises of a mall, hotels, gardens, market, event centers, motor parks, recreation centers, fitness center or any other similar establishment without a mask to covers the nose and mouth; a checked body temperature of less 38 degrees Celsius, cleaned or washes hand using sanitizer approved by the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control(NAFDAC), Any person found to have a body temperature higher than 38 degrees Celsius shall be prevented from entering the public place and advised to immediately seek medical attention.

This regulation also directed all the security operative in Nigeria both on state and federal level to fully enforce the provisions of these Regulations.

As you know that most Nigeria police are happy about things as this, I will advise you that before you go out, make sure you are having hand sanitizer and use a nose mask if you don't want to be harassed by the Nigeria security operatives.
