Those who attended the meeting included Nasir El-Rufai (Kaduna) Hope Uzodimma (Imo), Atiku Bagudu (Kebbi), and Abubakar Badaru (Jigawa),  The Nation  reports. This was announced today by the Spokesman to the President Femi Adesina today. The new service chiefs are Leo Irabor, a major-general of the Nigerian army, chief of defence staff; I Attahiru, chief of army staff; A Z Gambo, chief of naval staff; and I O Alao, chief of air staff.Major General Attahiru Ibrahim was the theater commander of Lafiya Dole in the troubled North East in 2017 and before his appointment, he was the General Officer Commanding 82 Division Nigerian Army.The outgoing service chiefs are the Chief of Defence Staff, General Abayomi Olonisakin; Chief of Army Staff, Lt-Gen. Tukur Buratai; Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Ibok Ekwe Ibas; and Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar. Many Nigerians have expressed their pleasure at the appointment of the new Service Chiefs. Popular critic of the President Reno Omokri even commended him on the appointment of tht new appointments.
